We are very excited to announce the launch of a new series of Japanese masterclasses at Sosharu, with specialist topics ranging from kimchi to sashimi and beyond. Beginning with a welcome drink in 7 Tales, guests will be treated to a fascinating masterclass in our private dining room, Kisetsu, followed by an exclusive dinner in Sosharu with a set menu themed around the skills and stories learnt from each masterclass.

26th June: Wagyu Beef Masterclass
Learn the origins of wagyu beef and the different cuts available, along with the essential cooking techniques for classic Japanese wagyu dishes.

17th July: Kimchi Masterclass
Led by kimchi expert Susan Choi, enjoy a workshop that explores the kimchi traditions of yesterday, along with the new traditions being cultivated today.

31st July: Sashimi Masterclass
In this masterclass, guests will be shown the secrets of beautiful sashimi presentation, from how to select the perfect fish to sashimi-style precision slicing.

21st August: Japanese Rice Masterclass
Discover the different types of Japanese rice available, along with how to make sushi rice and chirashi sushi bowls using traditional Japanese rice pots.

All masterclasses begin at 5.30pm and are priced at £70 per person, including a welcome drink in 7 Tales and dinner in Sosharu. An optional wine / sake pairing is available for an additional £30 per person. Email to book.
